“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7 NIV)
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
(Proverbs 18:21 NIV)
“The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength.” (Proverbs 24:5 NIV)
In times where we feel powerless, we should lean on God the most. Why? Because power isn’t a feeling! Power is possession of control, authority, or influence over others. When we spend more and more time with God he gives us this authority so we can defeat wicked and tend to our situations correctly. His very nature is filled with power. And because we are his children, this nature becomes our possession.
When the Holy Spirit dwells inside of us, he releases things. He gives us downloads. He provides insight and revelation. He creates a clean heart within us. He starts taking out the old and replacing it with new. He gives us characteristics that are like him. Some being love, patience, kindness, wisdom, and confidence. That’s your POWER. All of these characteristics are intended to be used when we come up against things we think we don't have control over. Insecurities, doubt, the enemies lies, sickness, pain, finances, etc. Yes you have power to change these things! All you have to do is USE IT.
One way you can use your power is by speaking positive things into your life and into others. It releases change! It allows God to move! You have power to speak things as though they were. When you are used as a mouth piece for God, he gives you the words to say, THATS POWER. Nothing the Lord says will ever be a lie. When God speaks a word over our lives, he speaks life not death. So why do we? God didn’t give us a spirit of fear nor did he intend for us to walk around “this world” powerless. Don't be afraid of your own power!
God gave it to you for a reason. You have the power to break strong holds. You have the power to break generational curses and break habits that are trying to form in your children.
Becoming more aware of this power unlocks unlimited favor in your life. You will be able to defeat the enemy him when he tries to come for you. That’s wisdom. When we have confidence in who God is, its' easier for us to wait on the Lord knowing he will always come through for us. That’s patience.
There is power in patience. There is power in wisdom. There is power in forgiveness and love. Use your power! In your quiet time, ask God to reveal more of your power within you. Ask God to point you to a scripture that will help you begin to understand how to use it. Its inside of you girl! You just have to use it.
