1 Peter 5:8-9
"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings."
We've heard this scripture many times. We feel like we might have mastered it's meaning. But, God dropped it in my spirit again this morning to remind me of what is really going on. We think suffering is personal. We think that our situation(s) causes us suffering when in actuality it's simply a process. The enemy is after God's people. He is simply seeking us at our weakest moments and is distracting us. The thing is, he wants us to focus so much on the reality of things that we don't pay attention to what's happening in the spirit realm. We miss what God is trying to tell us when we are too distracted. We miss instructions, We miss revelations. We don't do it unintentionally but we must be aware of what is taken place. When Jesus was here on earth during his ministry, the devil would prowl around taunting him and his disciples. He literally would physically walk around the earth seeking one of Jesus's followers to devour. And now days, he does the exact same thing.
When I think of the word devour, it makes me think of something being sucked up into a hole. Being overtaken by something. Have you felt this way lately? Like everything around you is taking over your mind and thoughts? Like everything in your personal life is attacking you from every angle? We are under attack! The body of Christ is undergoing the same kind of suffering. I've talked to so many people lately and it just seems like the same things are happening in our lives. WE MUST NOT BE DECEIVED! The enemy knows that God is about to perform miracles. God is about to do some amazing things in our lives but lately we've been devoured by depression and anxiety. It is pivotal to stay on guard. We must identify the areas we've been being attacked in. We must pray strategically over those areas and ask God to cover us DAILY!
Let's come together and pray for one another. We must lift one another up each and every day!
